Sound Stories Solo Exhibition
Having an invisible yet profound disability comes with a unique set of experiences that impact every aspect of my life. Through medical diagrams and colorful swirls depicting bright sounds, this collection visually represents the experience of having hearing loss. This work and its accompanying presentations provide hearing-impaired people a place to be known and understood by their community. This show illuminates the experience of hard-of-hearing students and educates those around them.
I was selected to present this work at the closing ceremony for the Richters Scholarship. This work was also a featured article in the Crescent Newspaper. The work was also selected and displayed with the Salem Art Association at their gallery show ‘Fresh Perspectives’.

Lip Reading
This interactive section goes through a similar process of lip reading by matching words and letters up to understand sentences. Without lip reading, the paintings would be unintelligible.
Auditory Processing Puzzle
This section walks through how auditory processing works, and the kind of effort that people need to go through in order to hear. Even after understanding, it can be hard to keep up in fast discussions and conversations. Click to try out the puzzle.
